The city averages 101 days a year with temperatures reaching into the 90s and 55.6 inches of precipitation across 107 days of rain, according to NCEI 1991 to 2020 normals compiled by Current Results. That is a lot of afternoons when the range is a sauna or the course is closed.
A home golf simulator turns those days into practice time. You hit real balls with real clubs, see every shot tracked with tour-grade data, and play more than 150,000 courses worldwide without leaving your air-conditioned room. The same system doubles as an entertainment space for family, friends and clients.

That variety matters for simulator design. Newer suburban homes often have a three-car garage or an upstairs game room with the depth a simulator needs. Older inner-Loop homes may have lower ceilings, which pushes the design toward a ceiling-mounted launch monitor and a lower-profile enclosure. Houston humidity also makes climate control a design item, not an afterthought, since electronics, turf and screens all prefer a conditioned room.
The launch monitor is the most important decision in the build. Uneekor’s ceiling-mounted EYE XO2 uses three high-speed infrared cameras and reads a 28-inch by 21-inch hitting zone without marked balls (Uneekor EYE XO2). TrackMan iO is also ceiling mounted and combines radar with a dual camera system, while TrackMan 4 sits behind the golfer and needs more depth. FlightScope and Garmin round out the options for smaller rooms and tighter budgets.
We build custom enclosures sized to your Houston room, install impact screens or retractable screens, and mount projectors that scale from 4,500 lumens to 4K-class units depending on the package. Every projector is aligned so your shadow never lands on the screen.
TruGolf E6 Connect includes 28 courses on the standard license, with subscription tiers that open the full library, plus online leagues and events through its portal (TruGolf E6 Connect). Uneekor and TrackMan run their own software suites with practice, challenge and competition modes.
